The Annual Oâ™Donnell Off Road Championships was held at heralded Revelation Raceway located in Southern California. The track was fairly small in size but extremely technical and very rough. This type of racing surface would separate the contenders from the pretenders, chassis setup was crucial as was driving a consistent smooth line. The only XB8 in the field piloted by XRAY/HUDY USA team driver Rich Panganiban was ultimately crowned champion in the highly competitive 1/8 expert/pro class.
The A-Main race was truly a test of both equipment and driver as the demanding layout took its toll during the 30 minute final. Rich Panganibanâ™s XRAY XB8 started in the 3rd position and as the horn sounded gained one spot to 2nd after the third turn. On lap #3, it was clear the XRAY XB8 was superior in the rough conditions and took the lead never to relinquish it. For the first 15 minutes, Rich gained seconds every lap on the entire field and soon was in position to lap 2nd place. Saving the car, he was content with the one lap gap on the field and took it home to the finish.

The race winning XRAY XB8 is the same kit available in hobby stores around the world, and should be noted that no option parts were installed for this race. As a matter of fact, this car has all the original parts (excluding clutch shoes and wheels); with over 8+ gallons of fuel run on it. This is a true testament to the superior design and durability of this platform.
